Legal Basis of Operation

  1. Republic Act No. 9160 – Local Government Code of 1991
  2. Republic Act No. 9520 – The Philippine Cooperative Code of 2008, and its Implementing Rules and Regulations
  3. Republic Act No. 11364 – An Act Re-organizing and Strengthening the Cooperative Development Authority Repealing for the purpose Republic Act No 6939, Creating the Cooperative Development Authority
  4. Kautusang Bayan Blg. 92-03 – Kautusang Bayan na Lumilikha sa Tanggapan ng “Cooperative Officer” sa Pamahalaang Bayan ng Muntinlupa na Magsasagawa ng Tungkulin na Pangunahan at Subaybayan ang Pagtatatag at Pagpapaunlad ng Kooperativa at Pagtatakda ng Laang Gugulin para sa Tanggapang ito

Mandate

  1. Promote the viability and growth of cooperatives as instruments of equality, social justice and economic development in fulfillment of the mandate in Section 15 Article Xll of the 1987 Philippine Constitution;
  2. Formulate effective and efficient assistance to the Local Chief Executive in carrying out measures to ensure the delivery of basic services and provision of facilities that will improve management of cooperatives in the city;
  3. Recommend to the Sangguniang Panglungsod upon approval by the Local Chief Executive, strategies that will enable the cooperative to more opportunities for their economic growth;
  4. Supervise in the establishing, organization, rehabilitation, and monitoring of cooperatives in their growth and survival in accordance with the prescribed rules and regulation of the Cooperative Development Authority;
  5. And perform such other duties and functions and exercise such other powers as provided under Republic Act No.  7160, otherwise known as the Local Government of 1991, and those that are prescribed by laws and ordinances.
