MUNTINLUPA BEGINS DISTRIBUTION OF FREE BALIK ESKWELA PACKAGES TO PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS

The Muntinlupa City Government has officially kicked off the distribution of its annual Libreng Balik Eskwela Packages, providing free school supplies and shoes to nearly 100,000 public school students across the city—from early education to senior high school.

Mayor Ruffy Biazon personally led the distribution, visiting several public schools to hand over the packages to students. Now on its third consecutive year under the Biazon administration, the initiative aims to ease the financial burden of families as they prepare for the new school year.

Each Balik Eskwela package includes a backpack, notebooks, pad papers, pens, pencils, a pencil case, and a pair of black leather shoes, essentials carefully selected to support students’ daily needs in school. Last year, students received MUNwalk sneakers, which could be used both for PE classes and daily wear. The local government alternates shoe types each year to provide variety and meet students’ different needs.

“Ginagawa natin ang lahat para masuportahan ang kinabukasan ng kabataang Muntinlupeño. Kaya yearly din ang distribution natin ng Balik Eskwela packages bilang tulong sa mga gastusin ng mga pamilya at paghahanda ng mga estudyante sa panibagong school year,” Mayor Biazon shared in a Facebook post.

(“We are doing everything we can to support the future of Muntinlupeño youth. That is why we distribute Balik Eskwela packages annually—to help families with their expenses and ensure students are ready for the school year.”)

He added: “Ang hiling lang natin sa ating mga kabataan—mag-aral nang mabuti.” (“Our only request to our youth is to study hard.”)

The city government continues to strengthen its investment in education as part of Mayor Biazon’s 7K Agenda, which prioritizes access to quality learning and youth empowerment.
