Muntinlupa City, November 16, 2024 – The City Government of Muntinlupa has officially ushered in the festive season with a spectacular Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony held at the city hall grounds last night.
The centerpiece of the event was an impressive 45-foot Christmas tree topped with a 3-foot star, featuring a 20-foot diameter base. The tree, constructed from steel and adorned with garlands, Christmas balls, and resin decors, was designed to evoke the charm of a Christmas Village. Adding to the festive atmosphere, the tree was illuminated with Christmas light bulbs and pixel light bulbs, casting a magical glow over the city hall quadrangle.
In addition to the lighting ceremony, attendees were treated to enchanting performances from local choirs, including groups from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa, Colegio de Muntinlupa, Tunasan National High School, Muntinlupa National High School, and the champion of the 5th Aming Munting Handog Choral Festival, Muntinlupa Science High School.
The event saw full support from Congressman Jimmy Fresnedi, city councilors, department heads, and city hall employees, all of whom gathered to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season. The evening concluded with a breathtaking fireworks display that left the live audience in awe.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon expressed his gratitude to all attendees and highlighted the significance of the ceremony. “This tree lighting ceremony marks the beginning of our holiday festivities. It symbolizes hope, unity, and the joy of the season. Let’s spread the light and warmth of Christmas throughout Muntinlupa,” he said.
